Driver Logistics Commits ₹525 Crore Investment for Expansion and Technological Advancements

In a strategic move, Kerala-based logistics service provider Driver Logistics has inaugurated its multi-client warehouse and partial truckload operations in Karnataka, marking a significant step towards its expansion goals. The company has outlined a comprehensive investment plan, committing a substantial ₹525 crores over the next five years to fuel both growth and technological innovations.

The infusion of funds is earmarked for driving advancements in technology, aiming to benefit shippers, logistics service providers, and the local job market. As part of this expansion initiative, Driver Logistics plans to hire more than 150 individuals for its operations in Karnataka, with a specific focus on engaging young graduates.

With Karnataka emerging as a pivotal market for the company, Driver Logistics is set to offer a range of services, including Warehousing, Full Truckload (FTL), and Partial Truckload (PTL). The company aims to more than double its warehouse count, increasing it from the current 53 to over 100 within the next 18 months.

Founded in 2019, Driver Logistics has a robust presence across seven Indian states, namely Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Telangana, and Gujarat. Karnataka stands out as the company's largest 3rd Party Logistics (3PL) market, and the expansion in the state is a crucial element in its broader strategy.

Aqil Ashique, CEO of Driver Logistics, emphasized the significance of Karnataka in the company's operations, stating, "We look at Bangalore and Karnataka as a corridor for our entire logistics operation in terms of the entire network today. Approximately, 35 per cent of our entire revenue out of the seven states comes out of Karnataka."

The company, with a current fleet of over 200 vehicles, foresees Karnataka playing a pivotal role in consolidating operations across South India, facilitating efficient logistics services to Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh.

Furthermore, Driver Logistics has set its sights beyond national borders, announcing plans to expand into Southeast Asia, starting with operations in Thailand. The company intends to replicate its successful model in India by establishing a subsidiary in Southeast Asia in the coming quarter. The ambitious move aligns with the company's vision of positioning Karnataka as a gateway for its logistics operations throughout South India and beyond.
