Durga Flyover Works Gain Pace.

With the state government releasing Rs. 77.94 crore, the district administration has hastened the process of removal of houses and structures that come in the way for construction of Durga Flyover.

The government staff would visit each and every house that has to be removed and would pay the compensation amount to them.

Compensation would be paid for those who have raised structures by occupying the government land too, an official press release said recently.

At a review meeting with officials, district collector Babu A said that the flyover would be taken up in an area of 19076,33 sq metres for which 172 structures would be affected. Of them, 61 would be removed completely.

After the staff take receipts from the owners of the houses and structures, the money payable to them would be credited to their bank accounts.

Within a week of receipt of the compensation money, the owners would have to vacate their premises. Those who would lose their houses completely, who are 61 in number, would be allotted houses under JNNURM, the collector said.

The compensation amount is roughly Rs. 53,000 per square metre.
