Fourth Partner Energy crosses 3,000 KWp.

Distributed solar rooftop energy company Fourth Partner Energy has commissioned eight solar projects with a capacity of 3,116 kWp in Telangana under the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) rooftop scheme.

This is part of the effort to increase renewable energy adoption across government offices under the 1,000 MWp Grid-Connected Rooftop Solar PV System Scheme.

The projects have been implemented across National Institute of Technology, Warangal, Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University, Central Research Institute for Dryland Agriculture and select Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. (BSNL) and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) offices. Vivek Subramanian, Co-founder & ED, Fourth Partner Energy, said, “These projects will just not result in cost savings for the clients but also cut carbon emissions by around 4,500 tonnes annually, equivalent to planting over 2 lakh trees in India’s youngest State.” In Telangana, the scheme provides for government offices to switch to solar power at zero capital costs, and get electricity at a flat rate of Rs. 3.14/unit for 25 years.

This will eventually result in average savings of 50-60 per cent in power bills.

The largest of these SECI projects is at NIT, Warangal, with an operational capacity of 1,000 kWp.

The Hyderabad-based company has commissioned close to 40 projects in Telangana with an installed capacity of around 9,000 KWp, including plants at Raj Bhavan, Salarjung Museum and Symbiosis University’s Hyderabad campus.

Under SECI’s 1,000 MWp rooftop scheme, Fourth Partner has executed projects worth 13 MW at 32 sites in various States.

The company has an installed capacity of 160 MWp across 23 States and is targeting scaling up total capacity to 400 MWp this fiscal. Fourth Partner Energy is backed by TPG’s The Rise Fund, which invested $70million in the firm, last June.
