Garhwa drinking water project in limbo.

An ambitious drinking water project worth Rs. 37.85 crore is lying in limbo in Garhwa owing to unsettled land acquisition issues. Notwithstanding the fact that district faces acute water crisis every summer, the civic body has not taken any initiative to bring reprieve to the 50,000 residents.

Chairperson of Garhwa civic body, Pinki Kesri said: 'Work on the project has been put on hold as the displaced people have not received their compensation as yet.'
