Google Expands in India with Ananta, Its Largest Campus Yet.

Google recently unveiled its Ananta campus in Bengaluru, the company’s largest facility in India and one of its biggest offices globally. Spanning 1.6 million sq ft, the new campus can accommodate over 5,000 employees.

With over 10,000 employees in India, Google emphasized the country’s pivotal role in the global tech landscape, citing its thriving startup ecosystem and digital public infrastructure. The company has increasingly been building solutions from India for the world.

“As India charts an ambitious new reality with technology, Google has been a proud partner over the last 20 years. The Ananta campus marks a major milestone, reflecting the technological shift underway with AI,” said Preeti Lobana, Vice-President and Country Manager, Google India.

Moving forward, Google India will focus on expanding AI adoption to empower businesses and individuals while ensuring AI-driven transformation reaches key sectors like agriculture, healthcare, and fintech. “We aim to collaborate closely with India’s research and startup ecosystem while advancing skilling initiatives to bring more Indians into this digital journey,” Lobana added.

In a blog post, Google described Ananta as one of its “most ambitious ground-up developments,” reinforcing its commitment to building for both India and the global market.

Located in Bengaluru’s Mahadevapura, Ananta is Google’s fourth office in the city, with additional locations in Hyderabad, Mumbai, Gurugram, and Pune. “India has always been a unique opportunity for Google—not just to reach millions of users, but also to shape our products through Indian innovation, making them even more impactful for billions worldwide,” the company stated.
