Govt to provide Rs 100-mn for gas provision to Nowrang area
Peshawar: Anwar Saifullah Khan, MPA from Lakki Marwat said that federal government would provide Rs 100 million for provision of gas to Nowrang area of Lakki Marwat.
'My brother and former federal minister Senator Salim Saifullah had approved Rs 50 million for the project but Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani doubled the amount, Anwar Saifullah Khan said this while talking to different delegations of his constituency.
He said that the money would be spent to provide gas facility to Nowrang and other surrounding areas. He said the government had chalk out a comprehensive plan for undertaking water supply, irrigation and construction of road projects in the area.
The MPA urged the people of the local area to play their positive role in maintaining peace, as it is prerequisite for the development of the area. He expressed satisfaction over the law and order situation in the area and said that besides security forces, local elders, religious leaders, civil society members and youth have played exemplary role in maintaining durable peace in Lakki Marwat. As compared to other parts of the province, Lakki Marwat is very peaceful area, he added.
The people on the occasion informed the MPA about the problems they are facing and thanked him for approving a gas provision project from the federal government. Anwar said that the Lakki Marwat's public-private partnership mechanism for the maintenance of peace is a good example for people of other parts of the province. 'They should also evolve such kind of strategy to maintain durable peace there,' he added.
