Hero MotoCorp plans to double scooter manufacturing capacity with ₹1,500 crore investment.
Hero MotoCorp has earmarked ₹1,500 crore in capital expenditure for FY27 to double its scooter production capacity, according to CEO Harshavardhan Chitale.
The two-wheeler market leader is ramping up investments as part of a broader capacity expansion strategy, with strong demand for select scooter models driving the need for higher output.
Speaking to analysts, Chitale said the planned capex will primarily be directed toward expanding scooter manufacturing capabilities. “We are investing in capacity expansion, and we have committed over ₹1,500 crore of capex in FY27. And this capex is going to expand our capacity in scooters, where for some of our models that are doing very well, we are doubling our capacity,” he noted.
Separately, the company has also committed over ₹700 crore towards setting up a global parts centre in South India, aimed at strengthening its supply chain and global operations support.
