HMDA to take up 15 FOBs in the city.
Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) will take over the development of 15 foot over bridges (FOBs) in the GHMC area in the first phase, as the latter is unable to meet the requirement.
The FOB locations include Secunderabad Station, Prashant Nagar, Miyapur, Uppal Ring Road, Necklace Road, Vanasthalipuram (two), Chandanagar, Mythrivanam, A.S. Rao Nagar, Mallapur, Rajendra Nagar, Medchal Road, IDA Uppal, and near Umdanagar. Construction of these will be taken up at a cost of ₹24.85 crore.
Initially, five FOBs, respectively at IDPL bus stop, Prashant Nagar, near Eat Street parking lot, Necklace Road, Panama Godowns, Vanasthalipuram, A.S. Rao Nagar, IDA Uppal will be taken up at a cost of ₹7.68 crore, HMDA Commissioner T. Chiranjeevulu informed.
Detailed Project Reports have been prepared, and tenders would be called for on e-procurement platform. The FOBs would have elevators and steps too, Mr. Chiranjeevulu informed.
Earlier, the GHMC had identified 100 locations for construction of FOBs, but could not take up the job, as there was no response for the call for tender. Municipal Administration Minister K.T. Rama Rao then asked HMDA to take up a few of them.
