Iffco plans to set up urea, ammonia plant in Kalol

New Delhi: Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative (Iffco) announced plans to set up a 1.3 million-tonnes a year single stream urea plant along with a 2,200 tonnes a day ammonia plant at Kalol. The cost of the expansion is estimated to be around Rs 5,000 crore, the cooperative said in a release.

The expansion plans also include a captive power plant that will serve the existing unit as well as the proposed new plant s within the Iffco complex in Kalol.

The company is in talks with Haldor Topsoe of Denmark and Snam Progetti of Italy using their services as consultants for the project, the release added.

The cooperative already has an existing urea unit there.
