Indian company to set up power project in Pakistani Punjab.
Pakistan has signed an agreement with an Indian firm for setting up a 15 MW biomass power plant in Punjab province.
Universal Biomass Energy director Pawan Preet Singh Badal and Ejaz Munir, agriculture secretary of Pakistani Punjab, signed a memorandum of understanding for the project during a ceremony held recently at the chief minister's Secretariat.
Provincial agriculture minister Farrukh Javed said India would provide technical assistance for the power plant. He said the project would generate 15 MW of electricity.
