"IndiGo Granted Approval by IFSC Gift City to Establish Aircraft Leasing Operation"
Interglobe Aviation, the parent company of India's leading airline, IndiGo, has secured approval from IFSC Gift City to venture into the aircraft leasing domain. With an ambitious outlook, the company plans to channel approximately ₹11,500 crore into the IFSC aircraft leasing segment over the next five years. The funds for this venture are set to be sourced from promoter investments, as detailed in the company's application to the IFSC.
Operating under the banner of 'Interglobe Aviation Financial Services IFSC Private Limited,' IndiGo aims to specialize in various aspects of aircraft leasing, including operating leasing, financial leasing, and associated services. The company's operational scope extends to the leasing of aircraft ground support equipment and aviation training simulation devices.
Under the proposed framework, the services provided by Interglobe Aviation Financial Services IFSC Private Limited will cover a spectrum of activities, including lease arrangements, sale and leaseback, purchase, novation, transfer, assignment, asset management, and other transactions related to aircraft and aircraft engine leases. This strategic move positions Interglobe Aviation to capitalize on the growing demand for aircraft leasing services in the aviation industry.
