"Infosys Inaugurates New Development Centre in Visakhapatnam"
Infosys, a leading IT conglomerate, has officially inaugurated its latest development centre (DC) in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. Covering an expansive area of 83,750 square feet, the Visakhapatnam DC is designed to offer employees increased flexibility in adopting a hybrid work model, with the added advantage of working in proximity to their residences. Furthermore, this state-of-the-art facility will enable Infosys to attract, reskill, and upskill local talent, positioning them to engage in global opportunities through cutting-edge technologies such as cloud computing, artificial intelligence (AI), and digital solutions.
The Visakhapatnam DC, with a capacity to accommodate approximately 1,000 employees, is closely aligned with Infosys' forward-looking hybrid workplace strategy. In adherence to Infosys' Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) commitments and green building standards, the office has been meticulously designed to enhance energy and water efficiency, as well as optimize waste management practices.
Nilanjan Roy, Chief Financial Officer at Infosys, articulated the significance of this new venture, stating, "Aimed at bringing the workspace closer to Infoscions, this centre will further our approach towards creating hybrid workplaces and also offer new opportunities to the local talent pool. Visakhapatnam has developed into a favorable investment destination, and we are very grateful to the State government of Andhra Pradesh for extending their support as we commence our operations here."
The inauguration of the DC was a momentous occasion, graced by the presence of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, along with key dignitaries such as Gudivada Amarnath, State IT Minister, Vidadala Rajini, State Minister for Health, Family Welfare, and Medical Education, and Nilanjan Roy, Chief Financial Officer at Infosys.
