ITC plans to set up Rs. 400 crore confectionery unit in Odisha.

ITC Limited, a multi-business conglomerate with diversified presence in fast moving consumer goods (FMCG), hotels, paperboards and packaging, agri-business and information technology, plans to set up a manufacturing unit in the state.

'ITC Limited is coming up with a proposal to set up a biscuits and confectionary manufacturing plant in Khurda Food Park of Idco with an investment of around Rs. 440 crore,' said Ramesh Mohapatra, President, Utkal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (UCCI), the apex industry chamber of the state. A team of ITC from Bangalore will be meeting the MSME secretary, Panchanan Dash on January 16 and will make a presentation before him. MSME department is the nodal agency for Odisha Food Processing Policy-2013.
