Japan keen on investing in Karnataka: Envoy.

Japan is interested on investing in Karnataka, said Japanese Ambassador to India Kenju Hiramatsu.

Leading a Japanese delegation, Hiramatsu met Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy. The delegation showed interest in the implementation and maintenance of the Peripheral Ring Road (PRR), the Elevated Corridor and metro rail projects in Bengaluru.

The Ambassador said many Japanese companies were keen on investing in the upcoming Japanese Industrial Township at Vasanthanarasapura near Tumkuru town, being developed by the State government.

The Chief Minister noted that many developmental projects have been executed in collaboration with Japanese companies. An extent of 519.55 acres has been earmarked in Vasanthanarasapura Industrial area of Tumkuru for the Japanese Industrial Township. It will be an integral part of the Tumkuru industrial node in the Chennai-Bengaluru Industrial Corridor, he said.

He said that at the township, the focus will be on heavy engineering and machine tool, automotive and aerospace components. Infrastructure facilities like roads, power and water supply, and tertiary treatment plant are coming up.
