JSW Group to Invest $1 Billion in Launching Vehicles Under Independent Brand: Parth Jindal.

JSW Group, which holds a stake in MG Motor India, announced recently its plans to launch an independent range of vehicles under the JSW brand. The ambitious move will include cars, trucks, and buses, supported by a $1 billion investment.

Speaking at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, Parth Jindal, Director of JSW MG Motor India, revealed that the group is exploring the establishment of a new manufacturing facility in Odisha. The proposed facility could focus on electric vehicles (EVs), batteries, or other vehicle types, though no definitive timeline has been set. “For now, we have commenced work in Aurangabad. It’s not that we are moving anything from Odisha. We are keeping Odisha open, continuing with some investments there, and will make subsequent investments in time. We need to invest in many states, so we are always looking at new opportunities,” Jindal said.

In November 2023, JSW Group entered a joint venture with China’s largest automaker, SAIC Motor, the parent company of MG Motor. Through this collaboration, JSW Group holds a 35% stake in JSW MG Motor India, with SAIC providing technology and products to support the joint venture’s transformation and growth.

Jindal also shared plans for the first vehicle under the independent JSW auto brand, which is expected to debut around 2027-2028. Meanwhile, JSW MG Motor India will continue introducing new products, including pure electric and plug-in hybrid models, alongside internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles.

“We want to be at the forefront of New Energy Vehicles (NEVs), but that doesn’t mean we will ignore ICE vehicles,” Jindal stated. “We will continue to bring energy-efficient ICE products, hybrids, plug-in hybrids, and regular EV technologies to the market as demand evolves.”
