Karimnagar MP flays Cong. for neglecting leather park.

Karimnagar MP B. Vinod Kumar has alleged the Congress party had neglected the park sanctioned by then NDA government in 2002.

He criticised the Congress for making a hue and cry over the Leather Park in Rukmapur village of Choppadandi mandal and misleading the dalits.

Talking to newsmen along with Choppadandi MLA Bodige Shoba, Irrigation Development Corporation Chairman Eda Shankar Reddy here on Tuesday, the MP said that the Mini Leather Park should be taken up with the 80% central assistance and 20% State contribution.

But, the Congress after attaining power in 2004 had neglected park and in turn allocated the land to the Police Battalion, he alleged.

Ridiculing the then Congress minister T. Jeevan Reddy for remaining tight-lipped when the land allocated for Leather Park was handed over to Police Battalion, he found fault with the Congress party for misleading the people with false allegations against the TRS Government.

He said that the TRS Government was committed to setting up of Leather Park at Rukmapur.

The Government would inspect the existing leather Park at Nellore in Andhra Pradesh and another park in Nasik in Maharashtra and accordingly prepare a detailed project report about its feasibility and availability of leather etc. in Rukmapur.

With regard to the Manoharabad-Kothapalli railway line, he said that the Government had ensured that the Centre allocated ₹ 350 crore in a single instalment for the early completion of the project.

But, the Congress leaders were bent upon obstructing the project and had filed 32 cases pertaining to the land acquisition for the railway line, he charged. He reminded that the Peddapalli to Nizamabad railway line taken up by the Congress progressed at a snail’s pace due to poor allocations in the budget. However, the TRS Government was taking all measures for its early completion, he added.
