Under the leadership of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, the Karnataka State High-Level Clearance Committee (SHLCC) has granted approval to 14 projects totaling ₹34,115 crore, promising to generate 13,308 employment opportunities throughout the state.
Among the sanctioned projects, 10 are new ventures amounting to ₹19,452.40 crore, while the remaining four involve additional investments totaling ₹14,662.59 crore. Following the 62nd SHLCC meeting in Belagavi, Minister for Large and Medium Industries, and Infrastructure Development, MB Patil, announced key approvals, including Foxconn's additional investment of ₹13,911 crore, supplementing their previously sanctioned ₹8,000 crore investment in the state.
Other notable greenlit proposals encompass JSW Renew Energy Four Ltd (₹4,960 crore investment), JSW Steel Ltd (₹3,804 crore investment), Toyota Kirloskar Motor Private Ltd (₹3,237.30 crore investment), TRIL Bengaluru Real Estate Six Ltd (₹3,273 crore investment), and Janki Corp Ltd (additional investment of ₹607 crore).
Focusing on employment generation and industrial growth in North Karnataka, approved projects include JSW Renew Energy Four Ltd, Janki Corp Ltd, JSW Steel Ltd, and Orient Cement Ltd. These initiatives, with a cumulative investment of ₹9,461 crore, are expected to create 3,538 jobs in North Karnataka, according to the government.
The SHLCC meeting, attended by Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, Minister for Agriculture Cheluvarayaswamy, IT/BT Minister Priyank Kharge, and Minister for Youth Empowerment and Sports B Nagendra, signals a significant step towards bolstering economic development and employment opportunities in the state.
