Kirloskar Ferrous Industries Ltd Launches Pulverised Coal Injection Plant Operations

Kirloskar Ferrous Industries Limited has reached a significant milestone with the completion of the installation of its Pulverised Coal Injection (PCI) plant. The company announced that operations commenced on March 29, 2024, at its facility located in Bevinahalli Village, District Koppal, Karnataka.

The PCI plant's commissioning marks a strategic move for Kirloskar Ferrous Industries, as it is expected to lead to a reduction in coke consumption. This reduction will translate into substantial savings in fuel costs, thereby contributing to a decrease in the overall production expenses.

The installation of the PCI plant necessitated a capital expenditure of approximately Rs. 50 Crores (net of recoverable taxes). Financing for the project was sourced partly through internal accruals and partly through borrowing from financial institutions.
