Kochi World Trade Center to open this year.

The Bengaluru-based Brigade Group's ambitious World Trade Centre project at the State Government-owned Inforpark in Kochi will be operational by the last quarter of this year.

Vishal Mirchandani of Brigade Group told a news conference that the work on the first phase, involving 3.75 lakh square feet, would be over by October. The second phase, another 3.75 lakh sq. ft., would be ready by the end of next year. The group was investing around Rs. 250 crore on the World Trade Centre project which would provide office space and other business infrastructure to mainly the IT-ITES sector.

He said this was the second WTC the group would have – the first was WTC Bangalore.

State IT Secretary PH Kurian hoped the WTC, which was a reputed global brand that facilitated international trade, would attract more companies and increased business to Infopark. Infopark currently houses 200 companies with a workforce of 20,000.
