KSSL and L3Harris Sign MoU to Develop Tactical Communication Networks for Indian Armed Forces.

Kalyani Strategic Systems Limited (KSSL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bharat Forge Limited, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with L3Harris Technologies to collaborate on advanced defence and security solutions in India.

The two-year agreement focuses on jointly developing Command, Control, Communications, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) technologies, with a particular emphasis on tactical communication networks. The partnership enables L3Harris to leverage KSSL’s local expertise while bringing its global experience—having deployed over one million radios for the U.S. Department of Defense and allied forces—to India’s defence sector.

“This MoU sets the stage for future partnerships where L3Harris and KSSL can contribute to bolstering national security,” said Dave Johnson, Vice President, International, L3Harris. “We look forward to accelerating the delivery of advanced tactical radios and equipment to the Indian Armed Forces.”

The partnership aligns with the U.S.-India Defense Industrial Cooperation initiative, fostering collaboration in cutting-edge defence technologies and supply chain resilience.

Beyond India, the collaboration aims to establish supply chains for global defence commitments. L3Harris, which has been operating in India for over 21 years with facilities in New Delhi and Bengaluru, already provides advanced tactical radios, electro-optic/infrared systems, and futuristic telecommunications infrastructure for Indian airports in partnership with the Airport Authority of India.
