Lt-Governor Najeeb Jung orders close scrutiny of city’s power, water projectS.
Conducting a review of all the schemes and projects announced in July, Lieutenant-Governor Najeeb Jung recently directed all department secretaries to personally monitor progress.
'Secretaries must take ownership for each scheme and project and personally monitor its progress,' Jung said.
Jung has directed Chief Secretary DM Spolia to ensure the reform projects of the Power department — which were approved by the Union government earlier this month and are being implemented by the Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) - be implemented with six months.
The projects include implementation of power subsidy at 1.20 per unit up to 200 units and 80 paisa per unit for the slab 201 -400 units to domestic consumers; as well as commissioning of sub-station at Harsh Vihar and another at Peera Garhi by year-end, a statement issued by Raj Niwas said.
The Delhi Jal Board (DJB) said piped water supply in 50 unauthorised colonies and sewerage system in 70 unauthorised colonies would be provided by December 31.
