Madurai smart city projects inspected by PWC Davidar as part of probe.

The one-member committee headed by retired IAS officer PWC Davidar recently inspected various smart city mission projects being implemented in Madurai city.

Madurai Corporation had taken up 16 projects for Rs. 991 crore under the smart city mission. While the work on eight projects were completed, the remaining eight projects are underway.

Accompanied by the corporation commissioner KP Karthikeyan, Davidar inspected various work sites including infrastructure and basic amenities at fruit market, redevelopment of Periyar bus stand, construction of convention centre at Tamukkam Grounds, Kunnathur Chatram, Vaigai river front development.

Later, he held a meeting with the corporation officials with regard to implementation of the projects.
