March Date for Mandalia Bridge.

The much-awaited bridge over Mandalia nullah on the Ring Road along river Mahanadi will be completed by March next year.

Once completed, the bridge will augment communication on Ring Road connecting Nelson Mandela Chowk near District Court at one end and NH-6 at Durgapali on the other. Work on the bridge had started in November last year and the project cost is Rs. 4.66 crore.

Executive Engineer of Public Works Department (PWD), Sambalpur, HS Majhi said target has been set to complete construction work of the bridge by March.

The old bridge over Mandalia nullah, which is currently being used, will be demolished after the new bridge is opened for traffic. The old bridge is not just narrow but also lies in a dilapidated condition due to lack of maintenance. The guard wall along the bridge has collapsed.
