Mercedes plans to double capacity on hopes of another good year with a stable govt at the helm.

German luxury car maker Mercedes Benz says it has witnessed more enquiries and improved footfalls following a stable government at the Centre.

The company, in a calculated move, is doubling plant capacity to 20,000 units per annum. Eberhard Kern, MD, Mercedes Benz India, told ET, 'In the first half of May, we saw people in the wait-andwatch mode but post the formation of the government, the number of footfalls and enquiries increased. The optimism in the market place has gone up and and we anticipate another good year for the company.'
