MoU signed for Cancer Hospital
Colombo: A memorandum of understanding to construct a six storied building for cancer treatment at a cost of Rs. 650 million was signed by the Healthcare and Nutrition Ministry and Lions Club of 306 A1 Dehiwala Metro Branch, recently.
A project proposal to construct an operating theatre complex, surgical wards and Cancer Research Centre at the National Cancer Institute, Maharagama has also been submitted.
The objectives of this project is to establish 'A state-of-the-art' surgical complex to improve teaching and training facilities for undergraduate and postgraduate medical students undertaking research in cancer care.
OT, CSSD, supportive facilities, ICU, doctors and nurses rest rooms, drug stores, waiting area, car park in the ground floor, eight medical wards in every floor with 224 beds, teaching school facilities and fully equipped research unit in the fifth floor will be provided under the project.
