Mumbai's Versova-Dahisar Metro project witnesses a doubling of costs to Rs. 35,955 crore within 6 months
The Versova-Dahisar Metro project in Mumbai has experienced a significant escalation in costs, doubling to Rs 35,955 crore within a span of six months. In addition to this development, a proposed elevated GMLR connector is set to link the Mindspace Malad Junction on Coastal Road to the starting point of GMLR in Goregaon East. This connector aims to bridge the southern tip and western suburbs of Mumbai with Mulund and Thane. The extensive project, undertaken on a design and build basis, is strategically divided into six packages due to its extensive length, varied terrains, and diverse components requiring specialized expertise. The project is anticipated to alleviate traffic congestion and offer pollution-free commuting options for Mumbai's residents, as stated by the BMC chief.
