New grid sub-station.
Delhi Power Minister Satyendar Jain on Sunday laid the foundation for a 66/11 kV grid sub-station, said BSES Rajdhani Power Ltd. (BRPL).
“Almost completed, this grid will improve power supply to south Delhi areas of Molar Bandh, Mithapur, Saurabh Vihar, Jaitpur and Khadda Colony. It will benefit a population of around 1.5 lakh,” said a statement released by the BSES, one of the three power distribution companies in the city.
The grid, being constructed at a cost of around ₹50 crore, will make BRPL the “first utility in India to have smart 66 kV power cables with built-in fibre optic connectivity,” it added. Designed to cater to Delhi’s power demand, the grid will be commissioned by May, said BRPL CEO Amal Sinha.
