NFL to Begin Nano Urea Production at Nangal Plant.
National Fertilizers Limited (NFL), a government-owned enterprise, announced plans to commence production of nano urea at its Nangal plant. The facility will produce 1.5 lakh bottles of 500 ml nano urea daily, leveraging advanced nanotechnology to enhance agricultural productivity.
Nano urea is designed to improve nutrient uptake efficiency and offers a slower nitrogen release compared to conventional urea, making it more environmentally sustainable. The innovative fertilizer reduces nitrogen loss as greenhouse gases, aligning with global efforts to mitigate climate change impacts.
As part of its rollout, NFL is conducting extensive field trials to evaluate the effectiveness and market acceptance of various nano urea formulations.
This move aligns with NFL's strategy to diversify its portfolio beyond traditional fertilizers. Known as the largest urea producer among Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs), the company has a strong presence in fertilizers, seeds, and crop protection products. With its expansion into alternative fertilizers like nano urea, NFL aims to address the evolving needs of Indian agriculture and promote sustainable farming practices.
The initiative reinforces NFL’s commitment to innovation and environmental responsibility, contributing to the modernization of India’s agricultural sector.
