NMDC resumes mining at Chhattisgarh.

Iron ore mining major NMDC recently resumed mining operations at Bailadila mining complexes of Kirandul and Bacheli segments in Chhattisgarh, after almost a week-long agitation at Bailadila by local tribals.

N Baijendra Kumar, CMD,NMDC, met with Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and senior officials of the State government to update them on the company developments.

Baijendra Kumar in a statement said NMDC has received timely support from the Chhattisgarh government and local administration and assured that the mining company would continue to focus on local development activities with thrust on education, health, skill development and integrated village development. He said that the company would put all its efforts to make up for the production loss during this period.

NMDC had halted production at Bailadilla region due to protests by local tribals.
