NMMC headquarters becomes operational recently.

Now residents of Navi Mumbai can heave a sigh of relief as they will not have to travel different civic offices to sort out issues. The recently inaugurated iconic Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) headquarters at Killa junction in CBD Belapur will open its doors to the public soon.

All departments of NMMC will shift from Belapur to the new building. The shifting has been done in three phases during the holiday period on April 12, 13 and 14.

Now, all the departments are under one roof, said commissioner Appasaheb Jarhad. Earlier, the departments were scattered at Belapur, Turbhe, Koparkhairane and other nodes in Navi Mumbai.

The iconic headquarters, which is the first green building by any government body, was inaugurated on February 18, by Union Agriculture Minister and the Nationalist Congress Party Chief Sharad Pawar, in the presence of Thane guardian minister Ganesh Naik.
