PM Modi Set to Inaugurate Projects Worth ₹11,600 Crore in Assam
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for a slew of development projects in Assam, collectively valued at approximately ₹11,600 crore. Addressing a public meeting at the Veterinary College Playground in Khanapara, PM Modi launched significant initiatives, including the Kamakhya temple corridor (₹498 crore), a six-lane road from the new airport terminal (₹358 crore) in Guwahati, the upgradation of Nehru Stadium to FIFA standards (₹831 crore), and a new sports complex in Chandrapur (₹300 crore).
The second phase of Asom Mala roads, encompassing 43 new roads and 38 concrete bridges with a total investment of ₹3,444 crore, was also initiated. Additionally, PM Modi laid the foundation stone for the integrated new building of the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (₹3,250 crore), the proposed Karimganj Medical College and Hospital (₹578 crore), and the ₹297-crore Unity Mall in Guwahati.
Other projects inaugurated by the Prime Minister include a four-lane road from Biswanath Chariali to Gohpur (₹1,451 crore) and another four-lane road from Dolabari to Jamuguri (₹592 crore). The cumulative investment in these projects, funded by both the state government and the Centre, is estimated at ₹11,599 crore.
PM Modi's visit to Assam included laying the foundation stones and inaugurating these strategic projects, contributing to the state's overall development and infrastructure enhancement.
