PM Modi to Inaugurate Development Initiatives in Maharashtra

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to launch a transformative scheme in Maharashtra, benefiting more than 86 lakh farmers, and unveil projects worth over Rs. 7,500 crore. Following this, he will travel to Goa to inaugurate the 37th National Games. An official statement has provided details of the Prime Minister's visit.

Modi's tour of Maharashtra will commence with a visit to the renowned Shri Saibaba temple in Shirdi, where he will offer prayers and inaugurate the new "darshan queue complex." This modern mega building has been designed to provide comfortable waiting areas for devotees and includes multiple waiting halls with a combined seating capacity exceeding 10,000 devotees. The foundation stone for this complex was laid by the Prime Minister in October 2018.

Additionally, Modi will conduct a "Jal Pujan" ceremony at Nilwande Dam and dedicate the dam's canal network to the nation. This 85-kilometer canal network will benefit 182 villages by facilitating water distribution networks. The Nilwande Dam project, conceived in 1970, is being developed at an estimated cost of around Rs. 5,177 crore.

The Prime Minister will also participate in a public event in Shirdi, where he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for various development projects, covering sectors like health, rail, road, and oil and gas, with a total investment of approximately Rs. 7,500 crore.

During this event, Modi will introduce the "Namo Shetkari Mahasanman Nidhi Yojana," benefiting over 86 lakh beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana in Maharashtra. This scheme will provide an additional annual amount of Rs. 6,000 to the eligible farmers.

Among the development projects to be inaugurated are an Ayush hospital at the Ahmednagar Civil Hospital, the electrification of the Kurduwadi-Latur road railway section (186 km), four-laning of the Sangli to Borgaon section of NH-166 (package-I), and additional facilities at the Manmad Terminal of the Indian Oil Corporation Limited, among others.

The statement also highlighted that the National Games in Goa are being held for the first time and noted that Modi would address the athletes participating in the sporting event. Under the leadership of the Prime Minister, the sports culture in India has experienced a significant transformation, and with continuous government support, the performance of athletes has significantly improved on the international stage.

The National Games will run from October 26 to November 9, featuring over 10,000 athletes competing in more than 43 sports disciplines across 28 venues.
