Reliance Industries, Brookfield, and Digital Realty Collaborate on Chennai Data Center; Inauguration Set for Next Week

In a strategic alliance, Reliance Industries has joined forces with Canada's Brookfield Asset Management and US-based Digital Realty to establish a cutting-edge data center in Chennai. The much-anticipated facility is slated for inauguration next week, as announced by Reliance Industries' Chairman and Managing Director, Mukesh D Ambani.

During his virtual address at the inaugural session of the Tamil Nadu Global Investors Meet 2024, Ambani praised Tamil Nadu's business-friendly environment under Chief Minister MK Stalin's leadership. Expressing confidence in the state's potential, he endorsed the vision of Tamil Nadu becoming a $1 trillion economy, aligning with the summit's theme.

Reliance's commitment to Tamil Nadu's progress is evident through various ventures, including the establishment of nearly 1,300 retail stores, representing an investment exceeding ₹25,000 crores. The telecommunications arm, Jio, has injected over ₹35,000 crores into the state, connecting 35 million subscribers in every town and village.

Ambani highlighted Jio's achievement in completing the fastest 5G rollout globally in December. This milestone positions Tamil Nadu to harness the benefits of artificial intelligence and other transformative technologies of the fourth industrial revolution, contributing to further economic acceleration.

Looking ahead, Reliance Industries pledged additional investments in Tamil Nadu, particularly in renewable energy and green hydrogen. Ambani emphasized the company's commitment to collaborating with the state government to champion sustainable development, a crucial initiative in addressing the climate crisis.

In his closing remarks, Ambani expressed confidence in the state government's support for forthcoming initiatives, backed by viable policies, reinforcing the enduring partnership between Reliance Industries and the progressive state of Tamil Nadu.
