Reliance Industries Signs 15-Year, $3 Billion Green Ammonia Deal with Samsung.
Reliance Industries has signed a binding 15-year supply and purchase agreement worth more than $3 billion with Samsung C&T Corporation to supply green ammonia, in what the company described as one of the world’s largest long-term offtake deals for the clean fuel.
Under the agreement, Reliance will begin supplying green ammonia to Samsung C&T from the second half of FY2029. The company said the contract ranks among the largest binding long-term green ammonia offtake agreements globally and reflects growing international demand for low-carbon fuels.
The deal also underscores India’s ambitions to emerge as a major exporter of green energy as industries worldwide accelerate their shift toward cleaner energy sources.
Reliance said the partnership with Samsung C&T is expected to be the first in a series of long-term offtake agreements aimed at supporting the expansion of its new energy business. The conglomerate has been investing heavily in renewable energy and green hydrogen projects as part of its broader strategy to build a large clean-energy portfolio.
