Revamp on the Horizon for Barabanki Railway Station

The Barabanki railway station is set to undergo a comprehensive makeover, as part of a plan initiated by the Northern Railways (NR) to enhance passenger experience and modernize the station's infrastructure.

The renovation plan encompasses the development of a spacious circulating area designed to facilitate the smooth flow of passenger traffic. Additionally, a main entry and a second entry will be established, featuring new buildings at both entrances to enhance passenger convenience.

As part of the modernization efforts, a visually appealing modern facade and portico will be constructed to give the station a contemporary look. The plan also includes the creation of a 12-meter-wide Fixed Offshore Platform, which will serve as a roof plaza, adding both functionality and aesthetic appeal to the station.

To improve accessibility, lifts and escalators will be installed, along with the incorporation of various amenities specifically designed for differently-abled passengers. The roads in the circulating area will undergo widening to accommodate the increased passenger flow.

Several other enhancements are planned, including the installation of signages, display boards, LED-based station boards, train information display systems, Coach Guidance Display Boards, a food plaza, retail facilities, a waiting area, and an executive lounge.

The Barabanki railway station, located on the Lucknow-Ayodhya route, is poised to emerge as a modern and passenger-friendly transportation hub, catering to the evolving needs of travelers in the region.
