RInfra- Astaldi SpA JV wins Rs. 70 bn EPC order for Versova-Bandra sea link.

Anil Ambani-promoted Reliance Infrastructure recently said it has won the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for the Versova-Bandra Sea Link Project in a joint venture with Astaldi SpA (Italy) for a value of Rs. 70 billion.

'Reliance Infrastructure Limited-Astaldi SpA JV had emerged the most competitive bidder with their bid of Rs. 69.93 billion. Other bidders in the fray were L&T-Samsung JV and Hyundai Development Company-ITD JV,' RInfra said in a statement. The letter of award (LoA) for the project has been issued by Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC).

With a length of 17.17 km, Versova-Bandra Sea Link is three times the length of the existing Bandra-Worli Sea Link, which is 5.6 km, the company added in its statement. The company added this would be the largest urban infrastructure project of its kind in India.

“Our JV with Astaldi SpA, the third biggest construction player in the world in bridges with an order backlog of over Rs. 2 lakh crore, will help us create a truly world-class mega infrastructure project for Mumbai,' said Arun Gupta, the chief executive officer (CEO) for RInfra.

RInfra looks to commission the 17.17 km sea link projects in 60 months time.
