Scania Commercial Vehicles Enters Partnership with PPS Motors for Mining Tippers

Scania Commercial Vehicles has officially forged an exclusive partnership with PPS Motors, a Hyderabad-based entity chosen as the sole representative for Scania’s mining tippers in India. This collaboration extends to pan-India coverage for sales and service operations, aiming to strengthen Scania's foothold in the Indian market for mining vehicles.

Johan P Schlyter, Managing Director of Scania Commercial Vehicles India, expressed enthusiasm about the alliance's potential impact, stating, “Through the recent signing of an agreement with PPS Motors, we’ve laid the foundation for an impactful alliance focused on our mining tippers segment in India. By leveraging our cutting-edge technology, we are optimistic about making a substantial contribution to India’s efforts in reaching its Net Zero Emission goal.”

PPS Motors has strategically positioned six regional warehouses across India in close proximity to mining sites. These regional hubs are strategically connected to Scania’s central warehouse in Nagpur, forming an efficient hub-and-spoke model. To support these operations, Scania will deploy its global mining standards, skilled technicians, and nine mobile service vans, ensuring effective handling of major repairs, aggregate repairs, accident repairs, and overhauling.

Rajiv Sanghvi, Managing Director of PPS Motors, expressed satisfaction with the partnership, stating, “We are happy to partner with Scania as their exclusive distributor for their mining trucks business in India. We are constantly in touch with our prospective and existing customers to understand their requirements to provide a customised ecosystem of products and services at the site throughout the vehicle’s lifecycle.” He further revealed that PPS Motors is investing additional resources to establish more touchpoints, aiming to offer deeper and wider coverage for enhanced customer support.
