Several Mega Projects to Come up in Vizag.

Andhra Pradesh chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has in principle agreed to Wipro setting up a SEZ facility, allotment of 10 acres of land to Tech Mahindra and 13 acres to public sector company SAMEER (Society for Applied Microwave Electronics Engineering and Research) in Visakhapatnam.

Speaking to reporters after a review meeting with Naidu on IT promotion initiatives at secretariat recently, IT minister Palle Raghunath Reddy, IT advisor to government J Satyanarayana and ITE&C secretary Sanjay Jaju said the proposed SEZ of Wipro would create 7,500 jobs and Tech Mahindra's new initiative would generate 5,000 jobs.

He said the chief minister had asked his department to constitute a special committee to resolve issues of Visakhapatnam-based IT companies. The committee would be visiting Visakhapatnam on July 16.

Satyanarayana said that in an effort to create infrastructure and support system for the development of IT and electronics sector, the government has decided to formulate an 'empowered mission' on IT&E with an annual budget of Rs. 500 crore.
