SJVN to Undertake Development of 100 MW Solar Project for GUVNL Across India
SJVN Ltd has emerged as the successful bidder in the e-Reverse Auction conducted by Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) for a 100 MW Solar Power Project. The company secured the quoted capacity at ₹2.63 per unit on a Build Own and Operate basis through a tariff-based competitive bidding process.
The Ground Mounted Solar Project, with a tentative cost of ₹550 crore, will be developed by SJVN's wholly owned subsidiary, SJVN Green Energy Limited (SGEL). The project is slated to be executed anywhere in India and is expected to be commissioned within 18 months from the date of signing the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA). The PPA, spanning 25 years, will be signed between SGEL and GUVNL.
Anticipated to generate approximately 252 million units in its first year, the cumulative energy generation over 25 years is projected to reach about 5,866 million units. Beyond the substantial energy output, the commissioning of this solar project is estimated to result in a reduction of 2,87,434 tonnes of carbon emissions.
SJVN's solar and wind portfolio now stands at 5,090.5 MW, of which 179.5 MW is operational, 1,860 MW is under construction, and 3,051 MW is in various stages of implementation. The company is steadfast in its mission to achieve 12,000 MW by 2026, shared vision of 25,000 MW by 2030, and an installed capacity of 50,000 MW by 2040. This successful bid marks another significant stride towards SJVN's commitment to renewable energy expansion and sustainability goals.
