SJVNL to build Rs. 739-cr Doimukh hydel project.
Shimla-based Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Ltd. (SJVNL) will build the 80-Megawatt (Mw) Doimukh hydro electric project in Arunachal Pradesh at a cost of Rs. 739 crore.
SJVNL chief R P Singh and Kaling Tayeng, secretary, department of power, government of Arunachal Pradesh, signed the memorandum of understanding at Itanagar, a spokesman of the public sector company said.
'The 80-MW Doimukh project will be implemented at Rs. 739 crore as a run-of-river on the Pare in Arunachal Pradesh,' Singh said. 'It will generate 291.57 million units (MU) of electricity in a 90 per cent dependable year. Thirteen per cent of the electricity generated will be provided to Arunachal free and the balance sold to other beneficiaries.'
The project is estimated to be completed in five years.
