S&T Park to digitally empower building, land nod cell.
The Narhe building collapse triggered the need for a proper mapping of legal and illegal buildings and the exercise, touted as an uphill task - one of the hurdles being lack of clarity in permissions for buildings and non-agricultural land - is on. Learning from the experience, the Pune district administration felt the need for digitising and recording revenue department data, non-agricultural land and building permission in particular, and the Science and Technology Park (Scitech Park) has chipped in with the expertise. Its proposal likely to get the green signal is expected to equip the revenue department to access these documents at the click of a mouse.
A GIS for a non-agricultural land and building permission cell at the collector's office will be manned by a Scitech Park team.
The Scitech Park proposal to the district collector envisages a Geographical Information System (GIS) cell to be housed in the collector's office to provide permissions.
