StarragHeckert to invest $31-mn in India
Bangalore: StarragHeckert, a global company in the field of milling machine centres for the aerospace, transport (automotive), energy and precision machinery markets, announced that it plans to invest $31 million in two phases as part of extending its footprint in India.
The expansion plan envisages a $6-million investment for setting up an assembly and manufacturing plant and $25 million for installing sophisticated machinery.
The company made the announcement at IMTEX (Indian Machine Tool Exhibition) 2009 being held here. Dr Frank Brinken, CEO, StarragHeckert Group, said, “We are excited to enter and invest in the Indian market, this endeavour will help us build on more customers and help strengthen our relations with the existing clientele like HAL, BHEL, Siemens, Ashok Leyland and Ministry of Defence”.
The company also announced the introduction of the WMW horizontal machining centre range CWK Series 400 to 800. The machining centre features a unique high technology machining concept for the automotive, aerospace and precision machinery markets. The range will be marketed under the WMW brand and is premiered at IMTEX 2009 exhibition in Bangalore.
