Startup Village in Kochi Set to Storm Industrial Hubs.
The Startup revolution had spread its wings in a more visible manner in Kerala with the commencement of Startup Village in Kochi in April 2012. It was the first incubator in the country with public-private partnership.
The model was successful not only in Kerala but in the entire country, the Startup Village has been getting enquiries from various state governments. The first Startup Village outside Kerala was started in Visakhapatnam last month.
The Startup Village plans to expand to more states and geographical areas in three to five years. In Kerala, a new Startup Village will start in North Kerala, most likely in Malappuram district. The decision about the place and model will be taken in three months. The Startup Village officials have got enquiry from Karnataka and UP governments to explore the possibilities of starting a Startup Village, replicating the Kerala model, in those areas.
“We are exploring opportunities to start Startup Village in other states and geographical areas. With the success of the model, we have been getting queries from various governments to start such facilities there.
