Sterling and Wilson bags SC work order.

Shapoorji Pallonji Group firm Sterling and Wilson Pvt Ltd has bagged a contract to undertake the mechanical, electrical and plumbing work of the additional office complex of the Supreme Court, which is being constructed at an estimated cost of around Rs 900 crore.

The project under construction covers an area of nearly two million square feet. It has three basements and five blocks of different heights. “As per the contract, we will install all the electrical fittings including high tension and low tension works, air-conditioning, fire protection, building management systems, plumbing management systems, and installation of elevators, escalators and travelators,” a company official said.

The new complex will have a solar-powered system of approximately 1,000 kVA and that will be set up by Sterling and Wilson. The energy generated by this solar plant will be used for powering the building and the surplus power will be supplied to the grid.

The project is expected to be completed by the end of June 2017.

Avinash Pandit, president, mechanical division and international projects, Sterling and Wilson, said, “Having completed various projects in India and overseas, we are confident that our technical knowledge and in-depth resources will ensure that the new additional office complex of the Supreme Court will have a world class look.”

He said the company will install the piping and automatic sprinkler system for the landscaping irrigation system. It will also provide a fire-fighting system that will have sprinklers, water curtains, and hydrant risers for the complete building. Additionally, the company will supply its environment-friendly diesel generator sets with complete exhaust system.

According to Sterling and Wilson officials, the new facility will have an integrated building management system, networking via LAN, security along with signage, and display systems for individual courtrooms.
