Tamil Nadu Government to Set Up R&D Centre in Delta Region

The Tamil Nadu government is planning to develop an industrial corridor along with a research and development centre in the Delta region to highlight the state’s industrial strengths, Industries Minister S. Keerthana said receently.

Addressing the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Southern Region conference in Coimbatore, she said the government would ensure a transparent, corruption-free administrative system and work to position Tamil Nadu as a preferred destination for high-value industries.

She said the state was focusing on future-facing sectors such as electric mobility, clean energy, artificial intelligence and advanced manufacturing.

The minister also said the government plans to assess the industrial potential of each district, partner with educational institutions to train skilled manpower, and align investment promotion with regional strengths to ensure availability of trained workforce for incoming industries.
