Tata Power Installs 220 RFID-Enabled EV Charging Stations Across Karnataka

Tata Power has bolstered its EV charging infrastructure in Karnataka with the installation of over 220 Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) enabled charging points. This initiative, part of the EZ Charge network, aims to streamline the charging process by offering tap, charge, and go cashless and wireless payment options.

Strategically positioned along major highways linking Bengaluru, Mangaluru, Davangere, and Mysuru, as well as popular tourist destinations like Chikmagalur and Coorg, the charging points provide convenient access for electric vehicle users. Key cities including Mangaluru, Mysuru, Hubli, Belgaum, Gulbarga, and Davangere are also covered by this extensive network. Moreover, Tata Power has installed over 150 charging points in prominent areas of Bengaluru, such as Devanahalli and Electronic City, aiming to minimize charging distances within the capital.

To ensure widespread accessibility, charging stations have been deployed at public locations such as Taj, Park, Oberoi, Gokulam Hotels, Tata Croma, and Tanishq. Furthermore, partnerships with esteemed builders and societies like Brigade Gardenia and Divyashree Elan Homes (RWA) further enhance accessibility.

The EZ Charge network, which currently spans 530 cities and towns, boasts 86,000 home chargers, 5,300 public charging points, and 850 strategically located bus-charging stations. Tata Power's efforts align with Karnataka's commitment to embracing clean and efficient transportation, positioning the state as a frontrunner in EV adoption nationwide.
