Tata Power Renewables Launches 'Ghar Ghar Solar' Campaign in Pune.
In a move to boost rooftop solar adoption, Tata Power Solaroof has launched a special Independence Day scheme for customers in Maharashtra. The offer allows residents to install a solar system with a symbolic upfront payment of just ₹1,947, representing the year of India’s independence.
Under the new plan, customers can secure a rooftop solar system with loans covering nearly 100% of the remaining cost. The scheme features easy monthly installments (EMIs) starting from ₹2,369 for a 2 kWp system, flexible financing options for up to 60 months, and instant digital loan approvals. To provide added peace of mind, Tata Power is also including a complimentary one-year solar insurance from Tata AIG.
The initiative is designed to complement the government's PM Surya Ghar Yojana, which offers residential consumers central subsidies of ₹30,000 per kW for the first 2 kW and ₹18,000 per kW for the next 1 kW, with a maximum subsidy of ₹78,000. To make financing more accessible, Tata Power Solaroof has partnered with 15 major financial institutions, including SBI, Bank of India, Bank of Baroda, and Canara Bank.
As of July 2025, Tata Power has installed 775 MWp of rooftop solar capacity in Maharashtra, serving over 27,910 customers. The company has set an ambitious goal to add another 800 MW over the next three years. In Pune specifically, Tata Power aims to add 250 MW to its existing 200 MW capacity within the same timeframe and plans to onboard 1,000 channel partners and retailers across the state to support this expansion.
