"Torus Robotics Receives Seed Investment from TNIFMC"
Chennai-based DeepTech startup, Torus Robotics Pvt Ltd, specializing in indigenous powertrain technology for the EV automotive market, defense, aviation, and consumer sectors, has successfully raised a seed investment of $4.70 lakh. The investment was led by the Tamil Nadu Infrastructure Fund Management Corporation (TNIFMC) through the Tamil Nadu Emerging Sector Seed Fund.
The funding round witnessed participation from Forge Innovation & Ventures in Coimbatore and SINE (Society for Innovation & Entrepreneurship) at IIT Bombay. According to a statement released by Torus Robotics, the investment will be directed towards scaling up the company's research and development operations.
Established in 2019 by Vignesh M, Vibhakar Senthil, and Abbhi Vignesh K in Chennai, Torus Robotics aims to tackle the significant reliance on imported powertrain components, particularly motors and controllers, within the EV market.
Torus Robotics is actively exploring opportunities in industries such as power generation, robotics, and related sectors. The company's adaptable technology holds the promise of transforming various aspects of modern industries, in line with the global push for sustainable solutions, as highlighted in the release.
