Upper Tamakoshi approach road project delayed

Dolkha: The construction of approach road of Upper Tamakoshi Hydroelectric Project (UTKHP), which was supposed to be completed by mid-April this year, is delayed by a year.

Speaking at a program organized here on Tuesday, Arjun Kumar Karki, Executive Director of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) admitted that the construction would be delayed by a year because of contractors' apathy and technical hitches.

He, however, assured that the construction would start as scheduled.

Five different private construction companies have been contracted to build the 28-km long track from Singati.

'We will hold talks with contractors soon regarding the matter,' Karki said.

He further claimed NEA had been working tirelessly to complete the 309-megawatt power project in time.
