Water Board sanctions Rs. 40 crore in Kukatpally.

Works up to Rs. 40 crore were sanctioned in the Kukatpally division of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) by its Managing Director M. Jagadeeshwar at a review meeting.

The meeting was held with the Kukatpally legislator M. Krishna Rao and HMWSSB officials at the division's office.

As part of review meeting, proposals were put up by the General Manager (GM), Operating and Maintenance (O&M), Kukatpally division, to strengthen the water supply system.

Apart from the sanctioned amount, Mr. Jagadeeshwar assured the General Manager that another Rs.12 crore would be given for further improvement.

Mr. Jagadeeshwar opined that in wake of the upcoming Krishna phase-III and Godavari phase-I projects, the engineers of the HMWSSB's O&M divisions and transmission divisions should come up with proposals that can carry the capacity of feeder mains and distribution mains to cover localities of all the areas coming under the purview of the Water Board.

The Managing Director instructed the Director (Technical), and Director (Operation) of the HMWSSB to come up with such proposals with foresight for the future.

He also instructed the GM of the Kukatpally division to keep up the drive to regularise illegal water supply connections, said a pres release.
